The Knights and Lady Knights began their basketball season by hosting the Sixth Annual Knights Court Classic Preseason Tournament on November 7, 8 and 9th. NGCA played host to twenty different teams in the tournament. The tournament had teams playing in the following divisions: Middle School Girls, Middle School Boys, Junior Varsity Girls, Junior Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys. The teams from NGCA all had a strong showing in the tournament and it was a great way for the teams to begin their season. The Varsity Lady Knights played some tough games, but did not make it to the tournament championship game. NGCA’s senior Emmy Beaver was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
The Knights Varsity Boys team finished as tournament runner up, as Friendship Christian proved to be too strong in the championship game. Jonas Proffitt was selected to the All-Tournament Team for the Knights. NGCA’s Middle School Boys team advanced to the championship game and pulled out the win against Crossroads Christian for the tournament championship. Brantley Jones was named to the All-Tournament for NGCA and Jackson Lopez was selected as the tournament Most Valuable Player.
